Tracking Not Pulling Driver Location Data

Modified on Sat, 28 Jun at 10:07 AM

Module: Tracking Page
Solution: Carrier

Overview

If the Tracking tab in a load or the Tracking Page isn't displaying driver location data, it’s usually due to device or connection issues. Below are the most common causes and what to check.

Common Reasons Why Tracking Fails:

  1. Driver is Offline or Has a Bad Connection

    • Poor or no internet will prevent data from syncing with PortPro.

  2. GPS Location Was Turned Off

    • The driver may have manually turned off location services on their mobile device.

  3. Background Location Permissions Are Disabled

    • If location permission is not granted while the app runs in the background (e.g., phone is locked), the app cannot track or report the location.

Resolution Steps

  • Ensure the driver’s phone is connected to the internet.

  • Confirm that location services are enabled for the app.

  • Verify that background location access is turned on in the driver’s mobile settings.
