What does “Tracking via App” mean?
This status indicates that the system is currently pulling location data from the Driver App instead of the connected ELD device.
How do I fix this and get ELD tracking to reflect correctly?
Verify driver and truck assignments
Ensure the driver is assigned to the correct truck within PortPro.
Check that the truck is linked to the correct ELD provider or integration.
Wait for ELD data to sync
If the system doesn’t receive ELD data within 10 minutes, it will default to tracking via the Driver App.
Once the ELD data is received, the status will update automatically.
Still seeing “Tracking via App”?
If:
The driver is correctly assigned to the truck, and
The ELD is actively connected and syncing data,
But the status still shows “Tracking via App,” then:
