Connecting to ELD

PortPro can now connect to various ELD providers. We are using Axle API, a company that allows us to access the data from ELD providers. 46 To connect, from your super admin account navigate to Settings - My apps - Fleet Maintenance and click the Connect button. Allow the permissions. You will want to connect your drivers and trucks for full tracking capabilities. The pop up will have you associate your profiles in PortPro to the information you have in your ELD provider's website / software.

Then, enable the GPS location and truck assignment for the driver. Please note a truck must be assigned to the driver in order to retrieve the live tracking information from the ELD.

Now in driver and truck profiles, there is an ELD column showing they are connected. You can open an individual profile to connect the driver or truck. This is a user permission controlled in Settings - Users & Permissions - Other category.

ELD will take priority for tracking. If for some reason this connection goes down, our app tracking will be used.

PortPro only pulls information from the ELD, it does not send any information back to it. More than one ELD can be connected to.

Using ELD in PortPro

To view ELD tracking, go to the Tracking page on the navigation bar or from within a load. A green dot on the driver name means they are using ELD tracking versus a blue dot means they are using the PortPro app tracking.

This icon in the top right of the Tracking page allows you to see traffic, locations (customer profiles / organizations) and driver names.

The above icon in the bottom right corner displays the legend for the map icons.

For any arrived events (ex arrived at delivery), we can see the time elapsed at that location under the driver's assigned loads / moves. For enroute events, an ETA will display. The Frequency refers to how often we are calculating the ETA based on driver location.

    • ETA: 120 minutes - Frequency: 5 minutes

    • ETA: 60 minutes - Frequency: 2 minutes

    • ETA: 30 minutes - Frequency: 1 minute

    • ETA: 10 minutes - Frequency: 36 seconds

    • ETA: 5 minutes - Frequency: 18 seconds

    • ETA: 2 minutes - Frequency: 6 seconds

For any times that there is not a connection, there may be a break in the tracking such as above.

This circular button can be used to see the driver's live location or historical data. This will show all data whether connected to a load or not.

Filtering Tracking Information

The driver name on the left can be clicked to filter by driver. The date range at the bottom of the screen can be changed. This will be filtering by the assigned date for the loads.

Use the arrow to the left of the load number to filter by load, then you can click on the events to further narrow your view.

The arrow pointing out on the right will allow you to send the live tracking link to your customer.
