What is the logic when setting up Return Locations?

Modified on Sun, 1 Jun at 12:16 PM

Unlock the Benefits of Returns Container Tracking

  • Help dispatchers choose valid return locations for empty containers

  • Automate recommendations based on SSL, container type, and size

  • Reduce container rejection at terminals by suggesting only eligible return locations

How to Use It

  1. Dispatcher View

    • On the Dispatcher Board, the Container Return column will display up to three suggested return terminals for each container.

    • Suggestions are based on terminals currently accepting empty containers that match:

      • SSL (Steamship Line)

      • Container Type

      • Container Size

    • Select one of the provided terminals to designate the return location.

  2. Load Info View

    • When viewing a load, the Return Location section will include a Recommended Return Location highlighted in orange.

    • This is the system-suggested terminal that meets the matching criteria.

    • The suggested location can be used or manually overridden if needed.

We’ve Tested It
This logic has been tested against live terminal data and container variables. The system consistently recommends valid return locations based on SSL, container size, and type requirements.

Reminder

  • Suggestions are only available when terminal acceptance data is available

  • Ensure that container details are correctly entered to trigger accurate recommendations

  • The Recommended Return Location is optional but strongly advised for optimal dispatching
