Account Setup - How to Configure Custom Email Domain

Modified on Tue, 17 Jun at 8:43 AM

Overview

This guide outlines the process for configuring DNS records to enable outbound email sending via a custom domain. PortPro supports sending system-generated emails (e.g., invoices, status updates) from a custom domain. Once configured, these emails will appear to originate from the configured domain rather than the default "do-not-reply@portpro.io," enhancing brand consistency and professionalism.

Domain Verification

Before configuration, the domain must be verified to confirm ownership:

  • Contact PortPro Support via chat or email and provide the following information:

    • Domain name.

    • Verification Email
A valid email address under the intended domain must be provided. A verification email will be sent to that address. Once received, the message must be forwarded to support@portpro.io to complete the domain verification process.

    • A unique TXT record value (Record #4) will be issued for verification.

Required DNS Records

Access the domain registrar’s DNS settings and add the following records:

  • Record #1
    Type: CNAME
    Name: mte1._domainkey
    Value: dkim1.mandrillapp.com

  • Record #2
    Type: CNAME
    Name: mte2._domainkey
    Value: dkim2.mandrillapp.com

  • Record #3
    Type: TXT
    Host: _dmarc
    Value: v=DMARC1; p=none

  • Record #4
    Type: TXT
    Host: @
    Value: Provided by PortPro Support

Final Configuration in PortPro

After DNS setup and domain verification:

  1. Log in to PortPro.

  2. Go to Settings > System Generated Emails > Configuration.

  3. Enter the preferred sending address (e.g., Contact Name <example@yourdomain.com>).

  4. Save changes

This completes the custom domain email configuration process.
