Welcome to our August 2025 System Enhancements!
Let’s explore what’s new and improved!
Add Drop Events While Driver Is enroute
What’s New?
You can now add a drop event even after the driver is on the way! Whether plans change or new delivery needs come up, you have more flexibility to update routes in real time — no need to wait or redo the driver's dispatch. Just add the drop in-between the Pickup and Deliver events and we’ll handle the rest!
Why this change
- Increased Operational Flexibility - Dispatchers can respond to last-minute changes without interrupting the delivery process. This reduces the need for removing and redoing the routing assignment.
Improved Vendor Invitation Emails
What's New?
We've updated the email vendors receive when they're invited to activate their PortPro portal:
New Greeting: The message now starts with a more personalized and informative intro:
"[Broker/Hybrid Account Name] officially invites you to join PortPro, a new system they will be using to tender you work, accept your invoices, documentation, and more!"Updated Link Text: The activation link has been updated to be clearer. Instead of “Click here to set up your password,” it now reads:
“Click here to activate your portal access.”
Why this change?
These enhancements make the invitation more welcoming and easier to understand, helping your vendors get started with PortPro faster.
Drivers Can Now See Missing or Invalid Documents
What’s New?
Drivers will now be notified if any required documents for their assigned loads are missing or invalid — directly within the mobile app.
Why this change
This new update helps drivers stay ahead by clearly showing which documents need attention, so they can take action right away and stay compliant. No more guesswork or delays, just a smoother more efficient workflow.
EDI Improvements for Smoother Load Handling and Visibility
What’s New?
We’ve made several behind-the-scenes enhancements to improve how load and shipment data is processed and displayed across systems. Here's a quick overview of what’s changed:
- Smarter Load Type Mapping: Loads marked as "TL" are now automatically recognized as Road shipments for better consistency.
- Clearer Shipment Details:
- Descriptions, piece counts, and weights now pull from the appropriate fields for better visibility.
- Weight units (lbs or kgs) are shown based on the shipment’s specifications.
- Reference Numbers are now included alongside Shipment Numbers for more complete tracking.
- Improved Address Visibility relating to 9-digit ZIP codes
- Improved 990 confirmation responses
- Better Appointment Updates (214s):
- Appointment types (AA/AB) are now included in the expected format for smoother partner communication.
- Internal loads (manually entered) no longer send shipment numbers back, aligning specifically with trading partner CHR’s EDI standards.
Why this change
These updates improve the flow of information, enhance shipment visibility, and support better coordination across systems and partners.
Improved Driver Planner Sidebar with Load-Level Details
What’s New?
We’ve enhanced the Driver Planner sidebar to give you a clearer view of your loads!
Load-Level Details: You can now see detailed load information directly in the sidebar—making it easier to plan and manage assignments.
Smarter Filters & Search: The date filter, load filter, and search bar now work more smoothly to help you quickly find what you need.
Accurate Tab Data: All tab views now reflect the correct information, based on your selections.
Fleet Accounts: Loads can now be displayed based on the selected branch — ensuring you're always seeing the right data for your operations.
Why this change?
This update helps dispatchers make faster, more informed decisions with less clicking around.
Hybrid/ Carrier Solution - Fleet Owner Settlement Creation
What’s New?
We’re working on a new feature enhancement that will allow users to create Fleet Owner Settlements based on finalized Driver Settlements. This will simplify how payments and summaries are managed for Fleet Owners.
- The user interface will remain the same as the current Driver Settlement module.
- Data will be automatically pulled from finalized Driver Settlements linked to each Fleet Owner.
- All amounts and details will be accurately calculated and mapped.
- Existing validation rules and workflows will be applied to ensure consistency.
Why this change?
The groundwork for this feature has been developed this month, and it is currently in progress. Stay tuned — it will be available in an upcoming future release.
More Flexibility When Matching Dual Transaction Loads
Why This Change?
You can now match Loads together more easily — even if the return and pickup locations are different, or if the container sizes don’t match exactly.
Previously, strict rules blocked some matches that were actually valid in real-world operations. We've removed these restrictions so you have more control and flexibility when linking moves for dual transactions.
What You’ll Notice
- Loads with different pickup and return locations can now be matched
- Different container sizes can also be matched when appropriate (e.g., using extendable chassis)
- The system will guide you if matching will update a return location — with a clear message and recommendation
- Moves already part of a Dual Transaction will still be protected from accidental re-matching
This change makes it easier to plan efficiently while giving you the tools to make informed decisions.
Automatic Bobtail Move as First Event
What’s New?
Now, when a driver’s route begins, the system will automatically create a bobtail move from the driver’s start point to their first pickup or delivery location.
Why this change?
This update improves accuracy and planning by ensuring the driver's first movement — even without a container — is captured by default. No extra steps needed. This makes route tracking more complete and reduces manual work for dispatchers.
Improved Tracking at GPA
What’s New?
We’ve enhanced our tracking at the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA).
Why this change?
ETA and TIR information and is now retrieved — giving you more accurate and reliable visibility into container movements at GPA. This means better planning and fewer surprises.
Improved Email List View – Easier to See Who’s Involved
We’ve updated the email list layout to make it easier for Customer Service Reps (CSRs) to quickly understand who’s part of each conversation — similar to what you’d see in Outlook or Apple Mail.
What’s New?
- Clearer “From” and “To” Labels
- The email list now shows “From” or “To” instead of the combined “From/To” label
- In the Inbox and most folders: you’ll see “From”
- In Sent and Drafts folders: you’ll see “To”
- Multiple Sender Names Displayed
- You’ll now see full names of email senders
- If multiple people have sent emails in the thread, their names appear in order from most recent to oldest
- Hover to see all names if the list is too long to fit
- Resizable Columns
- You can now resize the “From” or “To” column in Grid View to see more names
- Your preferred column sizes will be remembered as you move through your inbox
- Draft Labeling
- In the Drafts folder, recipient names now appear with a red “Draft” label to make them easy to spot
Why this change?
These improvements make it easier to see who’s involved in an email thread at a glance — saving time and improving workflow.
Improved Address Search When Creating Tenders
We’ve enhanced the search functionality to make finding locations easier across the system.
What’s New?
Now, when you’re creating a tender and searching for locations, you can start your search using an address number—just like you can on the Organizations page.
Why this change?
This means you can quickly find matching addresses or profiles no matter where you are in the system, saving you time and effort.
Move Leg Type Report Date enhancement
We’ve improved the report date filter to show only the data that falls within your selected date range — based specifically on the Actual DV Arrive In Date Time.
What’s New?
This means if a delivery arrival date is outside the dates you choose, that information will no longer appear in your report, making your results more accurate and relevant. For example, if you select August 11th as your date range, only rows with an arrival date on August 11th will show — even if other dates like August 8th appear elsewhere in the data.
Why this change?
This change helps you focus on the important leg and event dates, ignoring unrelated dates like load completion.
New Permission to “Close the Books”
What’s New?
We’ve added a new permission setting to give you better control over who can close the books in Accounting.
- The “Close the Books” permission can now be managed under
Users & Permissions > Permissions > Settings > Accounting > Accounting Configuration - It’s a simple checkbox you can enable or disable for each user.
- Users with this permission will be able to use the Close the Books feature.
- Users without this permission won’t see the option at all in their Accounting settings.
Why this change?
This permission is fully secured on the back end to ensure only authorized users can access this important feature.
Work Order Number Now Visible for Export Loads
What’s New?
We’ve added the Work Order (WO) Number to the Reference Numbers section for Export loads—just like it already appears for Imports.
- For EDI-based loads, the WO number will automatically show if available.
- For manually created loads, you’ll now see the WO number field so you can easily enter it yourself.
Why this change?
This makes tracking and managing your Export loads simpler and more consistent.
Dispatch Optimization Enhancements
Driver Behind Schedule Alerts in Planner
We’re enhancing the in-day planning experience to help you stay on top of potential delays. If a driver is running behind and at risk of missing an appointment, the system will alert you and recommend a better-suited driver to keep the move on time.
What You’ll See:
There will be a helpful alert right in the planner view when a scheduled driver is behind:
Header: DRIVER BEHIND SCHEDULE
Message: You’ll see a message letting you know that the current driver is behind and suggesting a replacement who can still make it on time.
Interactive Options:
Reassign Driver: Instantly reassign the move to the recommended driver.
Recommend Another Driver: See the next-best option if you want an alternative.
Tool Tip: Hover over the info icon for more details — it’ll explain that the optimizer has identified a driver who can still meet the appointment.
Quick Navigation: Clicking the recommended driver’s name will take you directly to their schedule in the planner.
The groundwork for this feature has been developed this month, and it is currently in progress. Stay tuned — it will be available in an upcoming future release.
Suggested Moves for Optimal Driver Recommendations
We’re adding a new enhancement to help you make faster, more informed decisions during in-day planning. Now, when the system identifies the best driver for a move, that move will appear as a suggested move in the recommended driver’s row — exactly where it would fit in their schedule.
What’s a Suggested Move?
A Suggested Move is a visual suggestion of where the move should go. It appears slightly grayed out to show that it hasn’t been assigned yet. When you hover over it, it will appear like a normal move card so you can review it easily.
What You’ll See:
Header: OPTIMAL DRIVER
Message: You’ll see the name of the recommended driver and the estimated value added if the move is assigned.
Tooltip: Hover over the info icon to learn more — it’ll explain that this driver is the best match based on all planning rules and value.
Your Options:
Assign Driver: Instantly assign the move to the suggested driver.
Recommend Another Driver: See the next best option. If there are no other recommendations, the move will move to the Action tab.
Snooze: Postpone the decision. The move will go to the Action tab and won’t be recommended again unless you manually re-run the plan.
Why this change?
You’ll also see a small icon showing that a move was snoozed, helping you track which suggestions you’ve chosen to delay. The groundwork for this feature has been developed this month, and it is currently in progress. Stay tuned — it will be available in an upcoming future release.
What’s New: Set Driver Mileage Preferences with Min/Max Values
You can now define each driver's preferred mileage range using simple minimum and maximum values — no more picking from preset intervals.
Why This Change?
Previously, mileage preferences had to be selected in fixed 50-mile chunks (e.g., 0–50, 50–100), which made it harder to set precise preferences. With this update, you get a much simpler and more flexible way to set exactly what works for each driver. This change helps dispatchers quickly and accurately match drivers to the right loads.
What You’ll See:
- Two easy fields: Minimum Miles and Maximum Miles
- You can enter 0 as a minimum, or leave maximum blank to allow unlimited miles
- If the maximum is less than the minimum, you’ll see a helpful message to fix it
- Your existing settings have been automatically updated — no action needed
