What Are Container Tracking Credentials?

Container Tracking Credentials are login details (username and password) that allow PortPro to connect to port or terminal systems. These credentials enable PortPro to:

  • Automatically book appointments for pickups and drop-offs.

  • Provide real-time updates on container statuses (e.g., when a container is ready for pickup).

  • Sync data between PortPro and the port or terminal systems.

Here’s how to enter credentials:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right of your screen to access Settings Tracking & Appointments Container Tracking Credentials

  2. In the Container Tracking section, ensure your port market is selected. If not, select your desired port market.

  3. After selecting your port market, you will need to enter your login credentials. Locate the "Appointment Scheduling" field corresponding to each terminal within your selected market and input your credentials.

  4. After successfully connecting all the terminals, finalize the process by clicking the confirmation button located at the bottom right of the screen.

  5. Additionally, please generate a separate set of unique credentials for PortPro to input into the “Appointments Screenshot” field. This is critical for the system to function effectively. It provides screenshots every 10 minutes to provide an audit trail that can be viewed from inside each load. This is also necessary for customers to present for issue resolution with terminals and steamship lines.

Ensure Driver and Truck Details Match Terminal Systems

For APM Terminals (“TermPoint”) and GCT Bayonne (“eModal”), both driver names and truck license plate details in PortPro must match exactly with the terminal systems.

  • Driver Names: Even small mismatches, such as using “Bob” instead of “Robert,” will cause appointments to remain in a tentative status and fail to confirm.

  • Truck License Plates: Ensure all license plates entered in PortPro are valid. GCT Bayonne and other terminals will reject invalid or placeholder plates like “11111.”

PortPro Tips:

  • Use unique terminal credentials for PortPro to avoid disruptions caused by shared logins, which can prevent successful appointment scheduling (APM).

  • Regularly export and compare driver and truck lists between PortPro and terminal systems to ensure all details are accurate and up-to-date.
