What Are Container Tracking Credentials?

Container Tracking Credentials are login details (username and password) that enable PortPro to connect directly with port or terminal systems. These credentials allow PortPro to:

  • Automatically book appointments for container pickups and drop-offs

  • Provide real-time updates on container statuses (e.g., when a container is ready for pickup)

  • Sync data between PortPro and port or terminal systems

Entering Container Tracking Credentials

To configure tracking credentials, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Settings gear icon located at the top right of the screen.

  2. Navigate to Tracking & AppointmentsContainer Tracking Credentials.

  3. In the Container Tracking section, confirm the appropriate port market is selected. If not, select the desired port market.

  4. For each terminal listed under the selected port market, locate the "Appointment Scheduling" field and enter the corresponding login credentials.

  5. Once credentials are entered for all applicable terminals, click the confirmation button located at the bottom right of the screen to finalize the setup.

Appointments Screenshot Credentials

A separate set of unique credentials must be created and entered into the "Appointments Screenshot" field. These credentials are essential for:

  • Enabling the system to capture appointment screenshots every 10 minutes

  • Providing a reliable audit trail, viewable from within each load

  • Supporting issue resolution with terminals and steamship lines by offering timestamped visual evidence

Important Reminder: Ensure Driver and Truck Details Match Terminal Systems

Accurate and consistent driver and truck information is critical for successful appointment scheduling with terminal systems such as APM Terminals (TermPoint) and GCT Bayonne (eModal). Discrepancies may result in failed or tentative appointment statuses.

  • Driver Names
Driver names entered in PortPro must match exactly with those in the terminal systems. Even minor differences—such as using “Bob” instead of “Robert”—can prevent appointments from confirming.
  • Truck License Plates
All license plates must be valid and correctly entered in PortPro. Placeholder or invalid entries, such as “11111,” are commonly rejected by terminals like GCT Bayonne.

PortPro Tips for Accurate Integration

  • Use Unique Terminal Credentials:
Avoid using shared logins for terminal systems. Dedicated credentials for PortPro reduce the risk of login conflicts and improve appointment success rates, particularly with APM Terminals.

  • Regularly Audit Driver and Truck Records:
Export and compare driver and truck lists between PortPro and the terminal systems to ensure all data is accurate and up to date. This helps maintain system integrity and minimizes scheduling errors.
