Scenario: Setting Driver Preferences for a Specific Driver

Driver Name: Test Driver
Equipment: Tri-Axle Chassis
Preferred Work: Import & Export Container Moves
Restrictions: Cannot enter port terminals (No TWIC Card)
Endorsements: Reefer, Highway, Street Turn


Steps to Configure Preferences

1. Access the Driver Profile

Navigate to Driver Profile → Preferences Tab.
Locate the profile for Test Driver in the system and open the Preferences tab to begin configuration.


2. Select the Appropriate Preference Categories

Within the Preferences tab, the following sections are available for configuration:

  • Preferred Event Types

  • Preferred Chassis Types

  • Restricted Locations

  • Endorsements


3. Apply Driver-Specific Preferences

Preferred Event Types

  • Select Import & Export Moves to reflect the driver’s core work preference.

Preferred Chassis Types

  • Choose Tri-Axle Chassis based on the driver’s certified equipment.

Restricted Locations

  • Due to the lack of a TWIC card, add TWIC-Required Terminals under Restricted Locations.
    Example entries may include:

    • Port of Long Beach Terminals (e.g., APM, TTI)

Endorsements

  • Add the following endorsements:

    • Reefer

    • Highway

    • Street Turn


Final Step: Save Preferences

Click Save Changes to apply the configuration.
The system will now restrict load assignments to those that align with the driver’s defined capabilities and limitations.


This setup enhances dispatch accuracy by ensuring driver assignments are fully compliant with certifications, restrictions, and operational requirements.
