EEI can not connect a mailbox with separate M365 login and 'From' address. To connect a mailbox, authentication using an email address and its corresponding password is required. Any messages sent through EEI will be sent from that same authenticated address.
In essence, successful integration depends on the ability to authenticate with valid email credentials, and all outbound communication will appear from that specific account. In this use case, the setup involves sending email from a different primary address than the one used to authenticate. The integration requires Microsoft to validate the "From" address against the authenticated user’s permissions. Since the addresses differ, this creates a conflict.
