The Moves Page is a redesigned operational dashboard in PortPro that provides dispatchers and operations teams with real-time visibility into container move activity. With filtering by date and organized views by move type and status, the page makes tracking and managing daily logistics seamless and efficient.
Table of Contents
What Is the Moves Page?
The Moves Page is a centralized dashboard that displays all container-related moves scheduled for a selected date. It supports historical data up to six months old and loads by default with moves scheduled for the current day. The page is divided into two main views: Event Section and Status Section, offering users both task-type and progress-based tracking.
Interface Enhancements and Routing UI Updates:
Container/Chassis Details: Moves now show container number, size, and type, improving clarity on what equipment is involved in each event.
Move Status Indicators: Events are tagged with statuses like Not Started, In Progress, and Completed, based on driver updates and system timestamps.
Duration Display: Duration between the start and arrival of each event is now displayed, providing better timeline awareness.
Start Move Button Relocation: The "Start Move" button is now embedded into the first move card rather than the top of the interface for more intuitive access.
Moves Screen
The Moves Screen is a calendar-style dashboard where all move events (pickup, delivery, hook, return) are organized by type and status. It features two core views:
Event Section: Organized by move type (e.g., Pickup, Delivery)
Status Section: Organized by status (e.g., Assigned, In Progress)
This dual-panel layout allows for easy visualization and quick action on pending moves.
Different Ways to Assign Moves
PortPro offers several methods to assign moves to drivers based on workflow preferences:
From the Moves Screen directly
Through Planner drag-and-drop
Using Batch Routing to assign in bulk
At the time of creating a manual move
Each method has unique benefits for real-time dispatch, scheduled planning, or mass assignment.
Driver Planner
The Driver Planner offers a timeline-based view of each driver’s day. Dispatchers can:
View all assigned moves
Add or drag moves directly to a driver
Assign support moves and chassis-related tasks
New Moves-Driven Enhancements
For users with move functionality enabled, the right-side Unassigned Section in the planner now displays detailed card tabs that mirror the Moves Screen logic. These include:
Containers for Pickup: Includes moves with a pickup event scheduled on the selected day with an LFD or appointment.
Containers for Delivery/Loading: Delivery events scheduled on the selected day.
Containers for Hooking: Hook events with an appointment.
Containers for Return: Return events with a cutoff, per diem LFD, or return appointment, regardless of load status.
Key Logic Differences (Old vs New)
Old Planner Logic:
For Return containers, the load had to be dropped and marked ready with cutoff or LFD.
Only the next move was shown per load.
New Moves-Based Logic:
Return events are shown based on move appointment alone — load status is not a factor.
All moves scheduled for the selected day are shown, not just the next one.
Dropped containers have been replaced with "Containers to Hook" if a hook appointment exists.
Unassigned Moves Table
Clicking on a driver opens a table of unassigned moves that need action today. This view replicates the Moves Screen’s logic and supports daily scheduling and last-minute assignments.
Batch Routing
Batch Routing allows users to select multiple loads and assign routes, drivers, or chassis all at once. Ideal for:
Assigning a group of pickups to one driver
Creating back-to-back delivery sequences
Streamlining import/export cycles
The interface minimizes repetitive manual entries while maintaining full routing control.
Event-Based Appointment
This feature links move scheduling directly to time-sensitive triggers such as:
Pickup Appointment Times
Delivery Windows
Return Cutoffs or LFDs
The system intelligently places these moves into the appropriate slots on the Moves Screen or Planner to reflect real-world urgency.
Key Benefits
Real-time visibility into all move statuses
Intuitive organization by both task type and progress
Quick driver assignment and progress tracking
