Driver ETA and Update Frequency

The term Driver ETA refers to the driver’s current estimated time of arrival at the designated destination, based on real-time location data. The frequency refers to how often this ETA is recalculated and updated, depending on the driver’s proximity to the endpoint.

To ensure precision and timely visibility as the driver nears the destination, a tiered update schedule is implemented. This dynamic approach allows for more frequent updates as the ETA shortens, enabling enhanced tracking and operational planning. The update intervals are as follows:

  • ETA ≥ 120 minutes: updates every 5 minutes
  • ETA = 60 minutes: updates every 2 minutes
  • ETA = 30 minutes: updates every 1 minute
  • ETA = 10 minutes: updates every 36 seconds
  • ETA = 5 minutes: updates every 18 seconds
  • ETA = 2 minutes: updates every 6 seconds

This graduated system provides stakeholders with increasingly accurate and responsive data, supporting improved coordination, customer communication, and overall logistics efficiency.
