What Is the Purpose and Functionality of the Destination ETA?

Modified on Tue, 3 Jun at 2:48 AM

Overview

The Destination ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) provides an automated estimate of when a driver is expected to reach their drop-off location, based on app activity and real-time location tracking.

How It Works

  • The ETA is generated once the driver taps the "En Route" button in the PortPro Driver App.

  • This action activates GPS tracking and allows the system to calculate a real-time arrival estimate.

Important Notes

  • If the driver does not engage the "En Route" button, and dispatch manually updates the load status, the ETA will not update and may remain outdated or blank.

  • To keep ETA data reliable, drivers should record timestamps themselves using the app.

Why It Matters

Accurate ETAs help dispatchers, customers, and port operations:

  • Anticipate delivery timing

  • Reduce follow-up calls or manual updates

  • Monitor load progress more efficiently
