Overview of Rating Structure
Charge Sets, Charge Profiles, Charge Profile Groups, and Load Tariffs are components of the pricing structure, organized in a hierarchy. Load Tariffs sit at the top and define the overall billing rules. They contain Charge Profile Groups, which organize Charge Profiles based on customers, drivers, or usage scenarios. Charge Profiles apply specific billing calculations and rules. Charge Sets are applied to loads, and hold the matching Charge Profile rates. The hierarchy flows from Load Tariffs to Charge Profile Groups, then to Charge Profiles, and are finally applied to Load Charge Sets.

What is a Charge Set?
A charge set is a collection of charges that you have the intention of invoicing to a single "Bill To", based on accumulated charges for a load. You can have as many charge sets as needed on a single load, to various "Bill To" entities.
To create charges sets and have them automatically apply to loads, you will want to navigate to the "Tariffs" section under "Customers."
What is a Charge Profile?
This area of the system includes three options: Load Tariff, Charge Profiles, and Charge Profile Groups. A Charge Profile can be part of a Charge Profile Group, and both can be included in a Load Tariff. A Load Tariff contains Charge Sets that can be automatically applied to loads based on defined rules.
After clicking the "New" button in the top right corner, a screen will appear to set up a new Charge Profile. Enter the name, select a charge, optionally add a description, choose the unit of measure, set when the charge applies to a load, and indicate if it should be added automatically. At the bottom of the screen, select which statuses the charge should apply to.
After selecting the option to add a charge, the middle section of the profile becomes available for configuration. This section is a key component of the charge profile, enabling the creation of start and end dates for different values of the same charge. It provides a historical record of changes and supports proactive setup for charges that vary by week, month, quarter, or other time periods
At the bottom of the screen, additional rules can be added to define when the charge should apply, with a wide range of configuration options available.
What is a Charge Profile Group?
A Charge Profile Group can be created as a set of Charge Profiles that you can then add to a Load Tariff, such as a set of accessorials you may add to every load.
To create a Charge Profile Group, begin by selecting the option to create a new group, then check the boxes for the charges to be included in the group.

What is a Load Tariff?
A Load Tariff is the final component in the structure, serving as the container for Charge Profiles and/or Charge Profile Groups. To create a Load Tariff, select the Load Tariff tab and click the "Add Load Tariff" button located in the upper right corner.
After selecting the add button, the following screen appears with basic parameters on the left side for configuring when the Load Tariff should apply. These settings include customer, start and end dates, load type, and other criteria. An option is also available to create a Load Tariff that applies to all customers.
Additional criteria beyond the basic settings are available to further customize the tariff and ensure it meets specific requirements.
Charge Profiles and/or Charge Profile Groups previously created can now be added to the Load Tariff as a Charge Set by selecting the "Add New Charge Set" button. Based on the criteria configured on the left side of the screen and the rules of the Charge Profile, the selected charges within the Charge Set will be automatically applied to loads that meet the specified criteria. Additionally, a "one-off" charge profile can be created by selecting the "Add Charge Item" button.
Selecting "Add New Charge Set" allows for the addition of multiple Charge Sets, which can be billed to either matching customers or specified customers, depending on the requirements.
