Why Does the Distance Shown in the Driver App Differ from the Routing Tab?

Overview

The mileage or distance values shown in the PortPro Routing tab and the Driver App may not always match. This is normal and expected behavior based on how each system calculates location data.


Why the Distances Differ

  • The Routing tab displays pre-calculated or planned route distances between pickup and drop-off points.

  • The Driver App shows real-time distance from the driver’s current physical location to the next destination.

If the driver moves or refreshes their load view in the app, the distance will update to reflect their new position — which may differ from what’s shown in the routing panel on the dispatcher side.
