This overview of Equipment Settings covers key areas that help automate and enforce accurate data entry in the system. It includes settings for managing commodities, containers, chassis, load parameters, and validations. Together, these features ensure consistent, standardized load information, improve operational efficiency, and support accurate reporting and billing.
Chassis Settings
Chassis configuration allows you to manage the equipment details that are essential for accurate load data and reporting.
Chassis Sizes, Types, and Owners
Can be added, edited, and toggled on/off based on current usage.
Helps maintain an up-to-date list of available chassis options.
Why It Matters
Chassis details can be applied directly to load information.
These values feed into reporting fields for operational visibility.
They also help trigger charge profiles, ensuring correct billing based on chassis usage.
Container Settings
Includes configuration for sizes, types, and owners, similar to chassis settings.
Contains Free Days setup, which is critical for calculating accurate cutoff and per diem dates and costs.
Free Days can be customized by customer if an agreement exists with a specific Steamship Line (SSL).
ISO code equivalents can also be added for standardization and reporting accuracy.
Parameters
Allows the system to automatically update load details based on configured rules.
Example: If a 20' container exceeds 39,000 pounds, the system will:
Mark the load as overweight
Automatically assign a tri-axle chassis
Validations
Ensures containers are assigned to the correct chassis type based on pre-set rules.
When enabled, the system will prevent users from adding a chassis in Load Info if it doesn't match the container type.
Helps maintain data accuracy and equipment compatibility across all loads.
