How Are Load Miles Calculated on the Load Info Summary Page?

Modified on Tue, 27 May at 5:36 PM

Overview

This article explains how mileage is calculated within a load and where those numbers originate on the Load Info Summary Page in PortPro.

How Mileage Is Calculated

Mileage is calculated based on a one-way trip from the pickup location (e.g., port or rail ramp) to the delivery location (e.g., warehouse). The system references the addresses in the Pick Up Container and Deliver Container events.

Example Calculation

In the screen capture below:

  • Pickup Location: Elizabeth, NJ 07201

  • Delivery Location: Brooklyn, NY 11207

  • Distance: 30.24 miles

  • Toll Distance: 30.53 miles

These values are pulled automatically from the Routing tab using standard mapping logic.

  • Distances are calculated on estimated road travel, not GPS data or ELD integration.

  • If a dispatcher updates an address in either the pickup or delivery event, the mileage will recalculate automatically.
