Why Does the Audit Say My Driver Made Billing Changes? Can Drivers Edit Charges?

Modified on Tue, 3 Jun at 3:53 AM

No, drivers are not editing charges. The system audit logs their name because they triggered the timing of the charge through their app actions, not because they modified the billing directly.

What This Means

  • When a driver’s name appears in the audit log next to a billing change, it simply indicates they performed an action (e.g., status update) that triggered a predefined charge.

  • The actual charge was auto-generated by the system based on configured rules.

Example Scenario

If your Detention rate starts after 2 hours of free time and uses:

  • Arrive to Deliver and Enroute to Return as its timing anchors—

Then when the driver taps “Enroute to Return” in the Driver App, and more than 2 hours have passed since “Arrive to Deliver,” the Detention charge is automatically activated.

That’s why:

  • The driver’s name shows in the Audit tab—they triggered the event.

  • But the rate and charge setup was predefined by your billing configuration.
