Timing Preferences Tabs and Their Impact on Appointment Booking

The Timing Preferences tabs determine how appointment bookings are scheduled in relation to key shipment milestones. The selected timing option directly affects when and how appointments are prioritized and booked by the system.

Timing Preferences Tab Descriptions

Tab NameMeaning & Impact on Booking
Relative to Last Free DayAppointments are scheduled based on the container’s Last Free Day, helping to avoid storage fees.
Relative to Delivery AptAppointments are booked in alignment with the scheduled delivery appointment to ensure timely coordination.
Relative to Per Diem LFDScheduling is based on the start of per diem charges, minimizing the risk of additional fees.
Relative to Cut OffAppointments are made prior to a designated cutoff time (e.g., warehouse closing hours).
First Available AppointmentThe system automatically selects the earliest available time slot for maximum efficiency.

How Timing Preferences Affect Automated Booking

The selected tab determines the system's logic for prioritizing appointment times:

  • Relative to Last Free Day:
Ensures appointments are booked before storage fees are incurred.

  • Relative to Cut Off:
Schedules appointments to meet a specified deadline or business requirement.

  • First Available Appointment:
Prioritizes the earliest open time slot to expedite scheduling.

Note: Timing Preferences settings reset when automation is toggled off and on again via the “Use this template on a background basis” option.
