Follow these steps to establish a secure connection between the PortPro TMS and a Google Sheet.
Step 1: Initiating the Connection in PortPro
- After accessing the Google Sheets AI Agent interface within the PortPro AI Marketplace, locate a button labeled “Connect,” “Add New Sheet,” or a similar call to action.
- Click this button to initiate the connection process.
Step 2: Google Authentication – Secure and User-Friendly (Featuring Google Picker)
- Upon initiating the connection, the system redirects to Google’s secure authentication portal.
- Sign in using the credentials of the Google account with access to the intended Google Sheet.
- Google will display a permissions screen outlining the access required by the PortPro AI Agent—such as viewing and managing spreadsheets within Google Drive.
- Review the permissions and select “Allow” or “Accept” to proceed. This process uses OAuth 2.0, a secure, industry-standard protocol that authorizes access without revealing or storing the Google account password.
- Google Picker Interface: During this flow, the Google Picker UI is presented. This interface allows for browsing Google Drive and selecting the specific Google Sheet file the agent will connect to. The Google Picker provides precise control over file access and ensures only the selected document is linked (refer to the "Google auth through picker.png" image if available).
Step 3: Selecting the Google Sheet and Specific Worksheet (Tab)
- After completing authentication and authorization, the system redirects back to the PortPro AI Agent interface.
- At this point, the agent identifies the selected Google Sheet file.
- The agent will display a list of all available worksheets (tabs) within the selected file (e.g., "Sheet1," "Load Data," "Tracking Info").
- Click to select the desired worksheet where PortPro TMS data will be synchronized.
